About Robin

A 1990 graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a 1993 graduate of Stanford Law School, since 2012 Robin Levi has helped students find the college that is right for them. At Students Rising Above, which assists high-achieving, low-income youth apply to and then successfully graduate from college, Robin built and ran their College Outreach Program. She developed relationships with more than 50 colleges across the United States and she has successfully guided hundreds of students through the college application process. In her previous career, Robin spent more than 20 years as a women’s human rights attorney.

Robin’s approach to college counseling is based upon the belief that the college selection process is the perfect time for young adults to start thinking about what they are seeking in their educational, personal and professional journeys as well as what makes them special and amazing.  She works with students to find maintain academic excellence, select a strong course schedule and explore activities that bring them joy.

Robin is a native New Yorker and still roots for her hometown sports teams, although she has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 25 years. She lives in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland and enjoys spending time with her husband, two grown daughters and slightly neurotic dog.

Robin is a Certified Educational Planner (CEP), member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling, Higher Education Consultants Association (professional), Independent Educational Consultants Association (professional), and the New York State Bar Association.
