My Approach

Robin Levi Educational Consulting is dedicated to finding the best fit for each student academically, socially and financially.

As the mother of two young women, recent graduates of Middlebury College and Yale University, I know that the college search and application process is a very important (and stressful) time for the entire family.

The higher ed world continues to raise many questions for students and their families: should I take a standardized test; what will be the impact of funding cuts on chances of getting accepted as well as the experience once on campus; what is going to happen to financial aid and loans; should I explore international universities….the questions just go on and on. I won’t pretend to have all the answers and most days I am just as confused as all of you. But my high-touch and personalized approach will help your student find the right answer for themselves and your family, regardless the circumstances. Using my experience and networks, together we will navigate these very strange times.

Robin was incredibly helpful with my daughter's list of colleges and strategy - what her realistic target schools were and where to apply early. Robin knew all about the trends for acceptances and specific details about each college and its reputation beyond the numbers.

I take a student-focused approach to ensure that each student finds the right college for them. It may be a school they have dreamed about for years, or a school they have never heard of. I will be straightforward about students’ admission chances but I will also be a tireless advocate and ensure that each student showcases their skills and talents throughout the college application process.

This personalization allows me to work with students with many different interests and backgrounds, which brings me great joy. That said, my more than a decade of experience of working with families of color ideally situates me to help students and their families find an educational home where they can thrive.  In addition, I have assisted athletes from a wide variety of sports, including baseball, rowing, soccer and track.

I work with individual students to:

Develop a College List

  • Create a tight, balanced and realistic college list through in-person
    meetings, phone calls, emails and texts
  • Assist with scheduling and preparing for college visits

Application Support

  • Conduct application review and help highlight student accomplishments and skills
  • Provide interview prep and advice on how to interact with college officers
  • Assist with navigating financial aid and scholarships as well as wait-list situations
  • Identify exciting summer and gap year opportunities

Essay Advice and Editing

  • Shepherd students through the entire essay development, writing
    and editing process
